Rob started out as a digital designer over a decade ago—his love of beautiful, user friendly designs drove him to learn to code ActionScript so that he could bring his designs to life through interaction and animation. Over the years, he became obsessed with object-oriented coding, and when the Flash ship started to sink—he focused on learning how to use modern browsers to deliver the Flash experience without plugins using JS, CSS, and HTML5.

Amplify Website

http://weareamplify.com
I've helped Crew Studio as a front-end developer and consultant to build a brand new website for their client: Amplify. The site is a fully responsive, rich media interactive experience, which I was fortunate enough to have some extra time to experiment with custom interactive components, animations, and transitions.

BREWSER.js

I've been working on an open source device and browser detection solution - built completely in JavaScript. BREWSER is a lightweight JavaScript library, which detects the users' device (mobile, phablet, tablet, and desktop), and their browsers' capabilities. The information gathered by BREWSER is super helpful for developers, who want to make sure that the interactive application they built works well on the users' gadgets in the best possible way in order to give the best possible user experience.

Virgin Media Pioneers - Interactive Documentary

This is an interactive video project of Rob helping a UK startup (Storygami) and it was developed for Virgin Media Pioneers' #OnTheLine series. It was selected as an honoree in Best Use of Video or Moving Image category.

GreenSock JS Rails Gem

http://rubygems.org/gems/greensock-rails
Another open sourced project—GreenSock JS for Rails is a simple Ruby gem for the ever popular Greensock JavaScript animation library. I've used GreenSock for almost 10 years, and it's my mission to offer RoR developers with the neatest way of including this great library in their Rails projects.

Future Learn

https://www.futurelearn.com
I helped the Future Learn team to set up their new website's front-end stack from the ground-up. I worked very closely with the lead designer, and 6 RoR back-end developers to make sure, that everything was tied up nicely in the front-end. The stack included: Sass, Compass, a custom modular CSS system based on DRY, SMACCS and flexible CSS modules - and of course jQuery, FastClick, GreenSock, and a handful of utilities.

Sang Bleu Club eCommerce

I built the full front-end for Sang Bleu Tattoo's new eCommerce website.

Paradise or Persecution

I helped Crew Studios to build a responsive campaign website for the International HIV/AIDS alliance.

The website's main goal was to raise awareness of popular travel destination countries' mistreatment of their local LGBT community, which is a very important problem, as criminalizing sexual differences makes it virtually impossible for charities and health organizations to properly educate the populations about sexual diseases.

The website invites the users to participate in a simple correct/incorrect type quiz—through which they can get a better idea of how friendly these countries are to tourists—while being completely hostile towards their own LGBT community.
